LOCAL SCOTS HANDCRAFTING ONCE IN A LIFETIME SCOTTISH EXPERIENCES

Fáilte, meaning welcome in Scottish Gaelic.

We're excited to welcome you to Alba, the ancient land now known as Scotland.

We’re Abi & Darren and we’ve been exploring Scotland since we were bairns. We are Scottish Elopement Photographers and videographers and have been supporting couples in their adventures for the past three years. Based in Edinburgh, we travel across the country for love.

We specialise in elopement & couple photography because we're Romantics at heart. We love our country and the natural beauty & traditions it holds. We support our couples in finding this beauty, engaging in Celtic traditions and documenting their celebration days exactly how it felt.

We live in Edinburgh with our little dog Edgar and we love travelling around Scotland, history and hiking. Abi is a Scottish Folk Magic practitioner & Darren can tell you anything you'd like to know about Scotland's past.

We use these skills to work respectfully throughout Scotland and to handcraft off-the-beaten track adventures for our couples, leaving them with memories to last a lifetime.

LOVE IS LOVE

BACK

We are an LGBTQ+ friendly business. All love is welcome.

We welcome people of all sexualities, genders, race, and ages.

Scottish adventures & photographs are meant for everyone.

Leave no Trace

BACK

During your session we'll likely be working in some fragile ecosystems and whilst we encourage you to enjoy Scotland, we also have a responsibility to keep it wild and beautiful.

We'll be operating in a leave no trace policy meaning that we won't leave or take anything from the land during our session. We'll take all rubbish and props home to dispose of properly.

Charity

BACK

Incorporating charity donations and work into our offering is so important to us.

Scotland, while beautiful, also faces some issue with things like homelessness and deforestation.

We rotate the charity we support each year in order to help charities tackling Scotland's most difficult issues. This year we will be donating £20 to Social Bite for every session booked. Social Bite is a local charity providing homes, jobs, food, and support to empower people to transform their own lives. They are creating a movement to end homelessness in Scotland. Thank you for helping us support their cause!

honouring scotlands spirits

BACK

Scotland is a wild land, full of magic. We honour the ancient spirits of this land while we work and would encourage you to do the same if you feel so called.

In Scotland, we are home to dwelling places of the the Sith (pronounced 'shee'), also known as the fae or the wee folk. They are a supernatural race who dwell under the surface of the earth or in the veil between worlds.

We Scots are a superstitious bunch and so will leave offerings to them for sharing their land with us. Our advice is to keep this natural & low environmental impact. Some great ways to leave an offering without a trace is by watering plants and picking up litter.

It's all in the intention to say thanks & add an extra special blessing to your day.

tim & caley

They weave a special kind of magic, and we’re so glad they worked it on us for our wedding!

Yasmin & Jason

Their relaxed approach meant, as awkward people in front of a camera, we felt very relaxed and this came across in our photos... They captured our day to perfection.

cat & Eurig

If we could give Abi and Darren 10 stars, we would! It a nutshell, they are professional, friendly, make you feel at ease with incredibly good communication and most importantly, their photographs are INCREDIBLE!

SARAH & KYLE

I could not be happier that we chose Abi & Darren as our elopement photographers! They were fantastic from start to finish. So friendly and helpful every step of the way.

FAQ

Do you have payment plans?

Yes! We require 50% of your package value upfront to secure your spot. Afterwards, the remaining balance can be paid up to 1 month out from your elopement / session date.

How many photos will we receive?

We deliver all the good photos, we'll never keep any photos from you in order to cap at a certain number. For a 2 hour couples session you can expect 150+ photographs, for a 4 hour elopement you can expect 300+.

How will I receive my photos / video?

You'll receive both your photos & video in an online gallery. They will be ready to view, download and share with loved ones. You'll also have access to an online store to purchase print products from some of our favourite photo labs.

When will I receive my photos & film?

You'll receive your photos & film within 8 weeks. We spend a lot of time getting your photos and video perfect so your day is immortalised in art.

Whats your postponement & cancellation policy?

Life happens! We're more than happy to reschedule your session provided we are available on your new date at no extra cost. For rescheduling we require a minimum 2 weeks notice.
When it comes to cancellations, you may cancel your booking up to two weeks before the session date. At this point there will be no extra fees although your 50% retainer will not be refunded. If you cancel within 2 weeks 100% of your package price will be due.

Can we made edits to our video after delivery?

With our films, you get your day preserved in art. We don't want to give you another project to squeeze into your busy life. For this reason, we don't make changes to your videos after delivery.

Can we have the RAW photos / footage?

Raw photographs and footage are unfinished and just one element in our processing post-session to deliver beautiful galleries and films. The files themselves are extremely large and require specialist skills and softwares to utilise. A crucial part of your photography and videography experience are the hours we put into hand editing & crafting your story in photos and film, this is what we're proud to deliver.

For this reason we do not offer raw photos and footage to couples.

Do you capture International Elopements / Sessions?

We do not. We work exclusively in our home country, Scotland as we believe it is the most special place to elope. Born & raised in Scotland, working here and sharing our culture is what we do best and it's where we can create the strongest experiences for our couples. We are experts in the landscape, weather, safety considerations and in photographing Scotland - all of which are why it's important to hire local Scottish vendors.

In the past we've had the privilege of photographing love stories internationally, though we have no immediate plans to offer this again.

What we're really saying is elope in Scotland, its the best choice you'll ever make.
