For J&P eloping meant a morning of privacy & magic at Isle of Skye's Fairy Glen.
Normally a popular hub, these two had the glen all to themselves. They awoke at sunrise in their nearby cottage before taking a lantern guided stroll down winding country roads and into the glen.
They started at the loch, setting intentions for the day before ascending into the magical hills of Fairy Glen. With not a soul in sight the pair united in an intimate ceremony, engaging in ancient Scottish traditions like drinking from the Quaich.
They also set their intentions & promises into stone. In Scotland, we call this an Oating stone. In Scottish Folk belief, Stones are the oldest spirits in the world, revered as the "ancient ones". Scots believed in Oathing Stone rituals, the couples cast their own spirits into the stone to become sacred, part of the earth and eternal. For this ceremony, J & P used natural clear quartz they unearthed on their hike at the Old Man of Storr the day before.
Though the glens were empty, they are never fully your own as Fairy Glen is an ancient dwelling place of the Shee (fairies). J & P made sure to honour their presence by leaving an offering into the air with their mugwort & lavender saining bundle. This is a great way to leave an offering while still working under 'leave no trace' ethics to keep the Scottish Highlands wild.
This elopement was all the things Scottish elopements should be, magical intimate and intentional.

Their relationship is based on shared values and playfulness. On this sunny evening in early spring we joined them to capture their love in their favourite city ahead of their wedding day in Summer. The pair agreed to meet on the stone bridge over the river in Dean Village. They soaked up the setting sunshine and fell deeper in love,
